Pool Season Update 2019/2020

Recently the Wigan Pool League Committee have been meeting and we can now reveal how we have decided to move forward with the end of the season.

The Season will not be completed and will end as it is. This will mean that the

Premier League Champions are Q8B and runners up Q8A.

League One Champions are Brickmakers A and runners up are Railway.

Please join us in congratulating the winners and the runners up.

The only other award that will be given is to the merit winners of each League. Congratulations to the following;

Premier League: Chris Hatton-Q8B and Glenn Cahir-Q8A both with 14 wins.

League One: Peter Turnbull-Poacher, Chris Taylor-Brickmakers B,

Craig Hartley-Railway, Craig Fairhurst-Poacher, Declan Mulvey-Crispin,

Tadc Davenport-St Jude's all with 12 wins.

All of the above will receive trophies and winnings.

All other competitions have been cancelled and entry fees will be credited back to each team.

We are currently chasing up outstanding sponsorship fees and when all monies are in, we can move forward with purchasing trophies and sorting out pay-outs.

Although the government has set out plans for when life without restrictions will be possible, it is still unclear whether that will go to plan, with that and with the lack of competitions for the season, we have therefore decided not to proceed with a presentation night. That fee will also be credited back to the teams.

We are hoping that by September, venues will be back up and running without restrictions. As soon as is possible, we will arrange the AGM and reformation meeting so that we can start the upcoming season as usual. We do anticipate that some teams may not return as there may be some anxiety over returning to life as we knew it but we are hoping to see you all back at the table soon.

If anyone has any further questions please contact a member of the committee,

Regards John, Mel, Danny and Keith
